 Tim Klein - Yoga

Tim Keim has been practicing yoga since 1994. The first thing he learned was how to heal an aching back with yoga. He's been helping others do the same since then. In addition to teaching group classes, Tim works individually with people directly addressing disease conditions with yoga therapy either as an adjunct to medical treatment or as a primary treatment.

Tim calls his approach to yoga, Comfortable Engagement Yoga. Tim say's, "When a student is "comfortably engaged" in yoga practice, they are able to relax and enjoy yoga practice as they challenge themselves to gain new levels of physical and mental awareness. Comfortable Engagement Yoga is a way for us to master the art and science of good health and fulfill our personal potential."

Tim is the author of The Dynamic Dozen: 12 Accessible Yoga Poses for Building Bone Density, Strength and Balance (Lystra Books 2014). Tim leads workshops for people with osteoporosis and osteopenia and those facing age-related diminished capacity.

Dan Pasek - Interactive Taijiquan

Teacher/coach Dan Pasek has been studying Taijiquan since 1979 and has been in NC since 1990 training with the Magic Tortoise Taijiquan School. Dan has been a tournament judge for both forms and push-hands since 1998.

Dan currently emphasizes interactive work both without and with weapons.

Interactive Taijiquan Class Information

(see class page for more details)
Taijiquan’s push-hands training (tui shou) was developed as a method for learning and improving ones understanding of the principles that underlie this art. It is not fighting, although it trains principles that may be applied to fighting. Sensitivity (especially through the sense of touch) is emphasized, and the class is suitable for all fitness levels without requiring any special equipment or clothing.

Push-hands skills involve connecting with incoming energy or force, and understanding it and controlling it without directly opposing it.

When in contact with a training partner, one should learn to recognize what is happening in ones own body

as well as what is happening with your partner’s body.

Scott Campbell - Yoga

Scott took his first yoga class in Texas more than 40 years ago. Although fascinated and moved by the experience, he took a very long detour to L.A. for a career in acting. Amidst the craziness and excess that is L.A., through the craft of acting, lots of therpay, the occasional yoga class, , and the reading of many esoteric books, Scott explored the relationship between the body, mind, and emotions.

Eventually seeking greater balance in his life, he returned to regular yoga practice some 15 years ago, and used his practice to heal, ground, deepen, and expand what he learned living as an actor in L.A.. He is a student of Taoism and Tibetan Buddhism, as well as Indian style of yoga. His teaching reflects the eclectic mix of his background, using what works, with encouragement, compassion, and humor to help each student to uncover and move closer to their truth and the peace and acceptance that eventually comes.

Scott is grateful for the many teachers who have helped along the way, including Gabriel Halpern, Ti Harmony,

Vincent Bridges and the Dalai Lama to name just a few.

Lindsey Gionfriddo - Ballroom Dance

Lindsey Gionfriddo is a graduate from Lees McRae College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Dance and Performing Arts. Her love for dance and the performing arts began at a young age as it was the catalyst that nurtured the young shy artist into a confident and professional instructor. This love affair with ballroom dance brought her back home to Florida where she began working at a nationally franchised dance studio. For five consecutive years she was awarded a top instructor position which was recognized among the franchised dance studio corporation worldwide. It was then when her dream of becoming her own boss and running her own studio brought her to Cary, North Carolina. Lindsey successfully built, owned and operated the studio in Cary for five years before leaving the organization. Now she lives happily in Chatham county with her husband and is proud to be teaching ballroom dance at The Joy of Movement Dance Studio. Lindsey offers private and group instruction to all ages and abilities as well as wedding dance preparation. For more information about upcoming classes please visit chathamsocialdance.com.

Garth Robertson - Music

Garth Robertson has been making music for over 20 years.  Professionally for 10 years.  He has studied with local and international healers in a variety of healing modalities from Sound Healing to Reiki.   After many years of training, he was offered the chance to become a Ceremonial Musician for different workshops up and down the east coast.  After traveling to Peru to further training, he received the message to begin facilitating Sacred Sound Sessions.  During the sessions, he uses many of the tools gained from travels and apprenticeships including instruments from all over the world. Every object has a natural vibratory rate; it's resonance. One of the principles of using frequency as a transformative and healing modality is to understand that  the body is in a constant state of vibration. Every organ, every bone, every tissue, every system--all are in a state of vibration. When we are in a state of health, the body projects an overall harmonic of health. External frequencies along with intention can be used to support and return both body and spirit to optimal health. He invites you to join him while you traverse and transcend these corporal bodies with ancient sounds from around the globe including guitar, overtone singing, chimes, Tibetan Bowls, flute, gong, frame drum, tuning forks and didgeridoo.
